Canadian author Myrtle Morrison’s journey of survival, “Mother Dearest Imperfect Love” has inspired a new generation of survivors.
 
 “Mother Dearest, Imperfect Love” is the story of Myrtle’s searching for her mother's love, the challenges she faced in an unkind world, and her triumphant journey to overcome these obstacles to achieve her ultimate dream of writing her story.  In this memoir, she bravely tells her life story of a broken girl, who never received love from her mother and never knew the true identity of her father. The story relates how, through determination, Myrtle survived sexual harassment, a near-rape, a murder attempt, and much more to become a respected member of the community, a well-loved mother, and a source of inspiration for others.
 
Myrtle Morrison was born on the island of Jamaica and migrated to Canada in 1976. She has overcome various obstacles in life but has remained positive throughout. With this book, she is achieving her dream of sharing her story with the world in the hope that it will inspire others to be strong.
 
She dedicates her life to helping others, particularly the elderly for whom she has a special love.
 
Myrtle has donated her star power to many event around the GTA, most recently the charity “Gifted Friends.” A non-profit organization, committed to the cure for diabetes. Myrtle has also shared her story with millions of listeners on G98.7, Toronto’s leading Afro-Caribbean radio station. As her story reaches more people globally, Myrtle has become a pillar of inspiration and hope to her fans and followers.
 
She lives with her three children and faithful pet, Ashley, in Whitby (Ontario, Canada).
